One of the many achievements I have so far was receiving the "Emerging Leader Award" at the University of Manitoba. I was nominated by two professors from the Natural Resources Institute for my leadership quality as a student leader. As a PhD student rep, I was actively involved in mentoring new graduate students, especially to the international students who were new to the country. As a student rep, I helped them know about important academic things, such as where to find academic help on campus, student safety issues,  student accessibility center, language programs,  information on important scholarships, off-campus accommodations, dealing with psychological issues, etc. In addition, my role also included organizing social events and having discussions on important academic issues.
